Privacy

This Privacy Statement has been prepared by GDI, Inc. (GDI), the parent company of GDIadvantage and the host and operator of gdihockey.com as well as the goaltending pages of affiliates' websites for which GDI provides and syndicates customized goaltending-related content (the "Site" or collectively, the "Sites"). The purpose of this Statement is to explain the types of information that we gather, how that information may be used, how we protect the information, and your options and rights related to such information and uses.

Information Collection and Use. The Sites are intended to provide information and services to goaltenders, coaches, parents and enthusiasts in an enjoyable and user-friendly manner. To help us achieve this purpose, we gather some information from visitors to the Sites. If you visit the Site but do not register, "cookies" will collect only non-personally identifiable information about your visit to the site, such as the pages you view. GDI may perform statistical analyses of such user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Sites, and to inform advertisers of such information as well as the number of users that have been exposed to or clicked on their advertising banners. GDI will provide only aggregated data from these analyses to third parties, which include GDI advertisers as well as third-party syndication partners and their advertisers. (See section on Cookies below, for more detail and information on how to disable cookies.)

However, if you register on any of the Sites, cookies will also collect personally identifiable information ("PII") about your visit. When we collect PII about you, such as your name, e-mail and mailing addresses, credit card number, you specifically, knowingly and voluntarily provide it to us. For example, your name, e-mail address, and other contact information are collected when you register at a Site, participate in community postings (e.g., chat and bulletin boards), or contact us through the Site. We use the PII you provide to respond to inquiries, set up member accounts for interactive use and provide services and goods to members on request, or process transactions or entries for contests and sweepstakes. We also collect your credit card account information when you sign up for a GDIadvantage Premier membership, or order merchandise or services from the Site. We use cookies to recognize you when you return to the Site, to serve up your personalized page with your personalized GDI content. We also use your PII to furnish you promotional and/or marketing information about other products, services and offerings from GDI and/or third parties, with your consent at the time of collection (see below). We do not otherwise sell or otherwise transfer your PII to unaffiliated third parties.

Please be aware that if you voluntarily disclose PII on the bulletin boards or in the chat areas of the Sites, that information, along with any substantive information you disclosed in your communication, can be collected and correlated and used by third parties and may result in unsolicited messages from other posters or third parties. Such activities are beyond GDI's control.

Finally, notwithstanding any opt out of promotional information, GDI reserves the right to contact you regarding account status, changes to the user agreements and other matters relevant to the underlying service and/or the information collected.

Links. You may have arrived at this website via a link from a GDI affiliate; if so, that affiliate is clearly identified at the top of the homepage of this website. In this event, please be aware that GDI may share your information with that affiliate. Further, during your visit to this website, that affiliate may independently collect other information from you. Please review the affiliates' own privacy policy.

GDI sometimes permits third parties to offer subscription and/or registration-based services to Users through one or more Sites. We also permit banner advertisers to offer Site Users products and services that we think may be of interest to them. The links to these parties will be clearly indicated; among other things, the address on the page should indicate the source. If you respond to an offer from a third party, be aware that you will be taken to that party's website where you will be furnishing your information to that third party, not to GDI. Remember that it may have different privacy practices than GDI, and that we cannot control the use of cookies or the resulting information gathered by such third parties. Please check its separate privacy policy when providing PII, as GDI is not responsible for any actions or policies of such third parties.

E-mail a Friend. The Sites sometimes offer you an opportunity to send an e-mail to friends or family. This functionality is for informational purposes only and may not be used for any unlawful purpose, including harassment, threats, or other abuse. GDI reserves the right to release information that you provide through the use of this functionality to third parties in case of suspected abuse or other problems, to enforce our terms of service, to protect the Sites and their service, its users and others who may be affected. GDI will not merge PII collected as a result of such "E-mail a Friend" functionality with any other data or use it for any marketing purpose.

Cookies. "Cookies" are small text files a website can use to recognize repeat users, facilitate users' ongoing access to and use of the site and allow tracking of usage behavior. Cookies are used with non-personally identifiable information to compile aggregate data that allows content improvements and targeted advertising. If you do not want non-personal information about your visits collected through the use of cookies, you may set your computer to deny or accept the cookie feature through a simple process in most browsers; however, without cookies we may be unable to provide you with certain features (e.g., customized or personalized delivery of information) otherwise available on the Sites.

Security. GDI and its website affiliates maintain practices and procedures designed to ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of personal information collection through the Sites. A firewall protects the e-mail server to which all personal information is delivered. Access to the information is limited to those employees and contractors who need it to carry out their business functions. GDI's employees are educated about the importance of safeguarding personal information and preventing unauthorized access, disclosure and use. Finally, we use secure server software ("SSL") that encrypts credit card information (including your name and address) submitted to any of the Sites. This encryption protects this information so it cannot be viewed as it is transmitted over the Internet.

Opting Out and Reviewing your PII. When GDI asks you to furnish PII on any of the Sites, you will have the opportunity to indicate at the point of collection whether you want to "opt out" of receiving future communications from GDI and its affiliates, or other third parties. After that time, you may "opt out" of further promotional contacts at any time by viewing your profile, which is accessible from many pages within the GDI site located at www.gdihockey.com or from many pages of one of GDI's affiliate sites, and following the directions thereon.

Additionally, GDI will use reasonable efforts to allow users to update/correct personal information previously submitted which the user states is erroneous to the extent such activities will not compromise privacy or security interests. Also, upon your request, GDI will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete your personal information from its database; however, it may be impossible to delete a user's entry without some residual information because of backups and records of deletions.

Should you wish to review or delete personal information you have submitted to us through this Site, or you have any questions, please contact support@gdihockey.com. The Future. This Privacy Statement applies to GDI's current practices as of February 3, 2003. We reserve the right to change this policy in the future by notifying you of the existence of a new privacy statement. If we decide to change our policies, we will post the revised notice on our website and/or contact you to explain about the changes that we plan and the options you will have regarding participation.
